Some of the hay types we offer are:
Meadow hay
Meadow hay is often used in dairy farming. Vandemoortel Wim BVBA is always searching for the best quality meadow hay that is sufficiently dust free, fresh and dry.
Threshed hay
Threshed hay consists of the remnants from the process of harvesting grass seed and consists of the grass stalks, without the blade and the culms. Threshed hay is ideal fibre-rich roughage and particularly suitable for rumen stimulation. Vandemoortel Wim BVBA offers different types of threshed hay, both cut and uncut.
- Red fescue grass: remains prickly and is therefore ideal for mixed feed
- Tall fescue grass: ideal as roughage for horses
- English ryegrass: very suitable as coarse horse hay
Alfalfa hay
Alfalfa hay is derived from a leguminous plant. This type of hay has a coarse fibre structure for good ruminal/intestinal function and is high in digestible protein. Alfalfa is great for cows, horses, sheep, goats and small livestock. Vandemoortel Wim BVBA sells sun-dried alfalfa (cut or uncut) and factory-dried alfalfa.
